Skiing – Wintergreen, VA
So, we decided to take Friday off work to go skiing in Virginia. It was a long long day. We had to get up at 3am to catch the bus at 4 am, and didn’t get back home til almost 10pm. It’s too bad we don’t work at SAS, we could have saved the early drive to Raleigh and instead caught the bus just down the road from where we live. It was worth getting up so early to avoid having to drive ourselves. I slept most of the way up and back. The snow was all fake when we got there, and they had very few trails open, but we hadn’t been skiing in 3 years so we still had fun! We spent most of the day on the beginner trail since the only other trail open was an intermediate that you had to hike up the hill to while carrying your skis. Not enough people were on it to break up the chunks of ice they call snow.
